What is Royal Jelly? Royal Jelly is a milky honey bee secretion that is high in nutrition to feed larvae and queen bees. This super food is fed to all larvae - workers, drones and queens; however the workers and drones discontinue their feed on the royal jelly whilst the queen bee continue throughout their development. When the queen is dying or weak the workers will select a few larvae to be the potential newcomer queen, developing in a special cell whilst being fed an extensive amount of royal jelly to ultimately trigger into the full evolution of the queen - including fully developed ovaries to lay eggs.
